Coast versus coast. It’s a showdown between the Pacific Side & Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
Which will dominate?
The first destination takes the stage. Rich with culture, deep blue bays and diverse topography worthy of exploration.
The opposing destination rises. Lush. Tropical. White sandy beaches. And those baby blues – shores that is.
Both beautiful. Both beachy. Both loved by our BeachMasters and guests alike who enjoy their coastline year after year.
But how do you choose?
Let’s take a closer look.
THE WEST SIDE
The Pacific side of Mexico holds some of our most popular destinations. Topography is incredibly diverse along the west side – from desert to jungle, many regions invite guests to experience a unique beach experience. You won’t find bright turquoise water or fine white sand on these shores, but you will find beautiful azure Pacific ocean and a variety of sand. Whale watching, deep sea fishing, and cultural exploration is to be had in these destinations.

As one of the top 10 most colorful cities in the world, Puerto Vallarta deserves to get some major creds! We recommend Puerto Vallarta to people with a love for the beach, mountainous green tropics, and incredible sunsets with a quaint city full of art and authentic cuisine. This destination provides a plethora of “must-see’s” both on and off resort property.
Deserts have such a bad rep! But you’ve never seen a desert like Los Cabos’ where golden sands and azul water stretch from the Sea of Cortes to the Pacific Ocean. With fishing, whale watching, a vibrant coastline, and lively downtown, Los Cabos’ arid climate sets itself apart from other areas in Mexico that experience high humidity.
Close your eyes and picture with me: a 360 degree view of hillsides facing the Pacific Coast, stretching its groomed, silky-smooth sand along a private beach. For an All-inclusive vacation off the beaten path, Ixtapa’s resorts offer a true retreat and refuge to travelers longing for a hide away among exotic foliage with unequivocal beauty.
Mountains kiss the shore of Huatulco’s 9 bays and 36 beaches. The winding coastline lends spectacular shades of emerald landscapes, golden shores, and azure waters. Here’s a fun fact for our eco-friendlies, the city of Huatulco is the 1st sustainable tourist community in the Americas and 3rd worldwide to be Green Globe certified. C
THE YUCATAN SIDE
The Yucatan Peninsula jets out into the Caribbean Sea. Our guests experience the lush tropical vibe, fine white sandy beaches, and amazingly blue waters of the Caribbean with a fraction of the price tag of visiting other islands. Think palm tree studded beaches, snorkeling, and beach bum around the clock (it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere). Whether looking to escape the city or looking for metropolis, the Yucatan offers the best of both worlds.

Cancun’s urban-ocean vibes create the ultimate vacation destination. Cancun blends the hot downtown excitement with the cool Caribbean ultra-blue water. Circ del Soliel, shopping, spa packages, and more – Cancun has something for everyone!
Just North of Cancun sits Playa Mujeres. It’s superb for long strolls along fine sandy beaches and golfing.
Just south of Cancun, it’s home to the best All Inclusive resorts in Mexico. Stretched along quaint fishing towns, the affordable Riviera Maya’s clear turquoise waters and palm-studded white sands lend to gorgeous fun and relaxation along the Caribbean coastline. Not only does Riveria Maya stretch your price point the furthest, but its versatile atmosphere is family-friendly and one of our fav destination spots for couples.
A small island with a lot of character and fit for adventure, it can be explored by golf cart.
Cozumel is the diver’s dream with coral reefs to explore and sea life to see. It’s just a quick fairy ride off the shore of Cancun/Riviera Maya.
And there you have it – two amazing yet so different coasts.
In this destination showdown, the verdict is up to you.
