Here’s Where You Should Vacation If You Need To Relax This Year

Depending on when you’re reading this, it’s almost the New Year or the New Year has just begun! Every year I always have high hopes of totally revamping my lifestyle from cleaning every inch of my closets to trying my best to eat clean and work out every day.

But there usually comes a point in the year where I slip up…and then I continue to slip up…and I usually feel like this,

This year, what if we took a different approach. What if, instead of creating super high expectations for ourselves, we chose to seek out moments of rest and made a point to fulfill it.

Honestly there’s nothing more restful than lying on the beach with your favorite drink, best friend and a good read. And if you’re not sure where to start, these are our top relaxing resorts that we have personally visited this past year and we’d love for you to visit this next year.

Here’s Where You Should Vacation If You Need To Relax This Year

1. Zoetry Villa Rolandi, Isla Mujeres

This boutique resort is the ultimate getaway. If you’re trying to escape from civilization and decompress, this is definitely the spot to be, with only 30 rooms on the island Isla Mujeres. Oh, and by the way you “have to” take a private yacht to get there.

This is the destination to go to reconnect with your partner.

2. Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness, Riviera Maya

Akumal Bay is the most chill family-friendly resort you’ll ever visit and the definition of “hidden gem” with an incredible beach and it comes at a great price! Enjoy snorkeling off the coast, music at the pool, and an amazing beach. If you want to escape from the activity, there’s a separation from the active kids pool and the “zen” zone. Go there and all you’ll hear are waves brushing up against the shore while being delivered drinks right and left. There’s plenty of room on the beach to hang out as well.

3. Secrets Akumal, Riviera Maya

We can’t say enough about Secrets Akumal. It is the epitome of a tropical paradise with beach cabanas galore and Mango Tango’s for days. “It is a luxurious oasis that features seclusion as well as a tropical landscape,” said one of our BeachMasters who spent her vacation swimming with turtles by day and relaxing in her balcony jacuzzi by night.

4. Dreams Tulum, Riviera Maya

This resort is a Mexican National Forest a.k.a it is government mandated to be clean. There aren’t any resorts near it so you feel like you’re on a private island on the beach. It’s a family friendly, but there’s a full adults only section. Walking around this resort, you will see that it has a Hacienda feel, and stays true to its Mexican roots in the architecture and design. You’ll feel like you’re arrived at your very own tropical oasis!

5. Zoetry Agua, Punta Cana

Zoetry Agua is in full zen-mode all the time. With butler service you get personalized care to the max. Zoetry Agua emphasizes holistic wellness and environmental responsibility without sacrificing luxury. The Suites have cane thatched cathedral ceilings, stones, and hard woods and some with a living room, private courtyard and pool surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. And nothing says becoming-one-with-nature like an outdoor shower.

6. Couples Negril, Jamaica

Couples Negril offers you an authentic Caribbean-feel with an island-feel and eclectic style of bright colors. It’s a smaller resort, known for its spectacular pool and amazing beach of silky soft sand; it’s very charming. Check out the tree house suite because it’s something to envy.
