I don’t know about you, but my default nature is go, go. go.
Even when I’m on vacation, I like to see everything, taste everything and experience everything. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it tends to turn sour when I run myself into the ground and forget to actually enjoy myself.

So over the years, I’ve learned how to pace myself and have happy, healthy vacations.
How to Stay Happy and Healthy While Traveling:
Take time to prepare.
To make a long story short — pack snacks.
I’m the absolute worst about grabbing a coffee and breakfast sandwich in the airport, pounding a package of pretzels on the plane and indulging in a burger or pizza once I’m in destination, but trust me when I say that planning and packing healthy eats is so rewarding.
Not only will it save you money, but your energy and satisfaction levels will be through the roof. My suggestion is to plan a healthy breakfast to eat on the way to the airport, a snack (apple or granola bar) to eat on the plane and then a sandwich or wrap to eat once you land.
It’s so worth it, guys. And, you’ll be proud of yourself.
Pick a drink and stick with it.
When you’re on vacation, it’s so tempting to over-indulge on drinks — especially when you’re staying at an All Inclusive. Like, if I’m not careful, I’ll have a mimosa, a mojito, a beer and a vodka soda… all before noon — yikes.
But, what I’ve discovered over the past couple of years is that if you stick with one drink or, at the least, one type of alcohol, you’ll be a lot healthier and a lot happier.
Find time for self care.
Just because you’re traveling, that doesn’t mean you have to jam-pack every day with new, fun and exciting things — pace yourself.
If there’s anything I’ve learned over the years, it’s to take it slow, to plan out your time and to take alone time when needed.
Stay at a hotel that’s on the same page as you.
When booking your accommodations, make sure their vibe, aesthetic, food, activities, etc. are in line with what you’re looking for.
