Throughout my time at BlueSun Vacations, I’ve been to many stunning resorts and destinations.
From Cancun, to Punta Cana, to Riviera Maya, to Los Cabos, I’ve been able to experience a lot of the incredible things Mexico and the Caribbean have to offer — but, my most recent trip to Jamaica totally blew me away.
The island left me both wishful to return with my husband and son, and utterly thrilled to share my experience with guests. So, I’ve created a list containing 7 reasons why I’d love to send you on a trip to Jamaica.
After all, it’s really true — Jamaica is perfect for everyone!
7 Reasons Why Jamaica is For Everyone:
1. Diverse Vibes
Whether you want to be immersed in the vibrancy of the city or the stillness of the beach, Jamaica has it all.
For those wanting to be smack dab in the heart of city: Stay in Montego Bay
In Montego Bay, you’re close to both the airport and all the excursions offered in Ocho Rios.
The resorts in Montego Bay reside in an active city, and boast incredible architecture that incorporates both modern and rustic designs.
City beaches can often be crowded and sub-par — but that is not the case here. Each beach is in its own little cove, so you feel like you’re relaxing on your own VIP private beach.
For those wanting a laid-back getaway: Stay in Negril
Negril is about an hour away from the airport — aka the ultimate getaway.
Here, you get the best of both worlds! Not only are the beaches big, clean and perfect for a slew of water activities, but “Negril’s West End” has amazing restaurants, bars and activities.
Negril is the perfect destination for experiencing true Jamaican culture.
There is so much to be explored in Jamaica!
Montego Bay is ideal if you’re wanting to experience all the excursions Ocho Rios has to offer. From Dunn’s River Falls, to zip-lining, to bobsledding down mountains, to day cruises, to luminous lagoons, you’ll never get bored!
If you’re interested in more excursions, check out this website — it’s my go-to for all excursions.
With Negril hosting authentic shops, bars and restaurants as far as the eye can see, you can spend the day soaking in Jamaica’s rich culture.
And, if you want to have a little extra fun, you can participate in the “Negrils West End” pub crawl — which tours 10 different bars!
My favorite was a bar called the “Push Cart Bar and Restaurant at Pirates’ Cave”. It overlooks the ocean and cliffs, and offers a spectacular view of the sunset. There was also a bar inside a cave — what could be more romantic and unique than that?!
Another hot spot is Rick’s Cafe.
Here, you can cliff jump, have a drink, munch on some delicious food and experience one of the most stunning sunsets I’ve ever seen.
It’s truly amazing.

4. Cost Effective:
If you’re wanting to visit a truly exotic, but cost-effective destination — Jamaica is perfect for you.
It’s fun, luxurious and truly magical without being over-priced.
5. Culture and People
From the Reggae music, to late night dancing, to trying an Appleton Rum, to sipping on a Red Stripe — the people of Jamaica make you feel right at home.
It was so ideal to experience the luxury of an All Inclusive, while still having opportunities to easily explore the city and meet the people of Jamaica.
Make sure to visit Scotchy’s Jerk Chicken when you go to Negril!
Imagine looking out over the mint-blue Caribbean ocean with lush tropical mountains as the backdrop. That’s Jamaican beauty right there.
At the new Breathless resort, you can go up to the rooftop bar and get the perfect view.
Jamaica is a hot spot for both modern and rustic resorts. New resorts are popping up in this destination all the time, and it was so insightful to get to see these in person.
While on our trip, we stayed at the Royalton Hideaway — a new resort in Negril. I loved this resort because it perfectly infused modern architecture with the rustic, cozy feeling Jamaica is known for.
This resort is also special and unique because it features an Adults Only side as well as a Family-Friendly side.
